Adelaide Botanic Garden, Adelaide

4.7
Walk from the Adelaide city center to discover the urban oasis that is the Adelaide Botanic Garden. Once here, visit the Palm House, a Victorian glasshouse containing Malagasy arid plant life. Enter the fragrant National Rose Trial Garden to see the different rose varieties that can grow in the local climate. Stand in the curvilinear-glass Bicentennial Conservatory and observe a delicate ecosystem including noisy pittas birds, spiders, and centipedes. Make sure you also stop by First Creek Wetland, a relatively recent addition, where you can learn about the importance of wetlands to urban environments. • I love the botanical gardens in Adelaide. There are so many different parts to it. We visited the fringe festival both gardens. We also walked through the gardens down from the Anzac memorial. It's so beautiful, so we'll looked after. Just a beautiful place to walk along or stop and relax by one of the ponds & watch the ducks. Will return there through out the year.
  • The Adelaide Botanic Gardens is a beautiful place. I've lived my entire life in Adelaide, and have many great memories of the place. I've had picnics, birthday parties, dates, and just some nice walks. The Adelaide Botanic Gardens has many areas to explore, and lots of interesting plants, if that happens to be something that floats your boat.
  • An oasis in the city, this is a beautiful place to find peace and quiet on a busy day. Beautiful rose garden, and the dry/low water garden is a must visit. The fernery is a place of cool on a very hot day. A beautiful Victorian greenhouse is the perfect antidote for those chilly Winter days.
  • The botanic garden is quite lovely. Trees are a good thing. The rose garden is beautiful in season. The wetland area is more modern and worth seeing. I also liked the cottage garden. The kiosk there makes very average coffee but it is a nice place to sit.
  • Go there... Smell the flowers, look at the colours. Need I say more... Well yes, I do. It's full of beautiful trees of a great age and dense bamboo with carvings from ye old times of before I wrote this. Bird life to be heard from all around. Walk through trail to the glass house to be taken into a different surrounding all together. SO GO THERE TODAY
