  • An icon of the Byron area coastline. This land had an interesting history both for western and first nations peoples. For thousands of years this was a sacred place for the local indigenous people, a place of dance and celebration. The lighthouse was completed here in 1901. Stunning views abound from the lighthouse, and there is a cafe at the top too for the weary walker. There is car access, and in my visit it appeared there was a wedding taking place at the nearby pavilion.
  • It’s a great place to go for an unwind. The walk it full of greenery and the paths are maintained well. There is a small museum inside the lighthouse with guides ready to answer any questions you have. You can pay extra to go up inside the lighthouse but we just did the free tour. The beach is soooooo clean and pretty. Apart from that, there’s not much activity going on. Tourists would like it. Active people would like it. But not much fun for everyday visits. Great for photography too.
  • Absolutely stunning lighthouse, classic story book looks and feel. If you have the opportunity to see inside you will be blown away, original style interior and traditional lens. The walk up to the lighthouse may be a tad step but it's not a long walk. Once you reach the top the view is breath taking.
  • Cape Byron lighthouse is a must see stop if you are in Bryon Bay and has be come and icon tourist with being at the most easterly point of Australia and shining a light over Byron Bay. The lighthouse has been around since the turn of the century and was built to protect ships passing along the coast. It is automated and can clearly be been seen from the township of Bryon Bay. There is a few car parks up the top, which if you are happy to wait you can get a park or if you feel like some exercise park down the bottom and make your way up the hill. The main attraction surrounded by amazing views of the ocean out to the hinterland and coast as well as regular sightings of humpback whales, turtles and dolphins which we were lucky to see that day. If you are feeling alittle more adventurous there are loads of walking paths around the surrounding coastline and a small cafe, little shop and toilets.
  • Cycled to the top of the hill, was fully worth it for the view at the top. It felt like something out of a movie. Truly stunning. Worth the hike, bike ride, car ride, airplane to. Whatever you gotta do to get there it's amazing.
