Trip Planner: Australia / South Australia / Greater Adelaide / Adelaide Hills / Crafers / Cleland Wildlife Park
A large national park just 20 minutes from the city center, Cleland Wildlife Park offers visitors a chance to get up-close and personal with Australia's native fauna. You can feed most animals at this site, or wander at you leisure among kangaroos, wallabies, emus, and waterfowl. There are several displays of dingoes, reptiles, wombats, and koalas, as well as large aviaries housing a variety of native birds. The park is home to a few endangered species, such the bush stone-curlew and bush-tailed bettong. Be sure to advantage of the rare opportunity to be photographed holding a koala, under supervision from the park's wildlife officers. Park facilities include a souvenir shop, cafe, and toilets. Cleland Wildlife Park Reviews
Our original plan was to spend a morning at the park moving on for lunch at a nearby cellar door . We arrived before 10am , just the right time to catch the hourly feeding times of the different speci... more »
We loved it here. Once you were through the gates it felt like a very natural environment. Lots of wide open spaces and lots of parkland. With the food to feed the kangaroos, wallabies and emus we wer... more »

A magical place. Kangaroos come right up to you and are so unbelievably cute and friendly you will just wish you had one. Probably worth buying a bag of food from admission because if you're enjoying the company of a small group of kangaroos, and someone with food comes near enough, they will leave and it will hurt your feelings. Emus are rude, will follow you around just a little too closely. They won't hurt you but they will invade your personal space, I understand that when you have to compete with kangaroos for tourist attention though, they are unfairly ignored. Tasmanian devils were hiding from us that day which was a bit sad because they are cute, if a little bit angry. Dingoes were similarly elusive although I could just see a paw sticking out of one of the kennels (is it called a kennel when it's for a dingo?) which was white like it was wearing an ankle sock, very stylish. Koalas were unwell. Apparently they had all caught a cold which is just very unfair they shouldn't have to go through that. I hope they are all feeling better now.
The best wildlife park I've visited. An excellent place for a relaxing day with all the family. Animals have plenty of space and it doesn't look like a zoo at all. You could feed cute little potoroos who are all over the park and various types of kangaroos. Also, there are many species of birds to spot in their natural habitats. The experience was well worth the money.
A great place to take kids and enjoy the day as a family. This place is actually a good example of how nice it is to see animals in their natural habitat. This place is paradise for nature lovers. There are different types of Kangaroos to see and Coala holding experience is unforgettable. Employees are friendly and helpful. There are Tazmanian Devils, Emu birds, wombats, dingoes and various species of birds to see. The best part of the day is that you can feed animals.
In a Nutshell: -If you love animals you need to come visit Cleland Conservation/Wildlife Park. -Not only do you get to see a variety of kangaroos, but you also get to walk inside their fenced off areas & feed/pet them. -There are also emu's, which you can feed. -The koala's are really soft & there are designated meeting times, where you can touch them/take photos with. -The park itself is well-maintained & staff knowledgable. -There are other animals such as wombats, Tazmanian Devils, dingoes, various fowl & other tiny marsupials. Overall, I love this park & all the free-roaming kangaroos.
Great place to take the kids and for tourists. I recommend to bring your own lunch.
