Kondalilla is a national park in the Blackall Range of South East Queensland, Australia, 91 km north of Brisbane. William Skene founded this area on his property while searching for lost cattle. He named it Bon Accord before giving it to the Queensland Government who, during the fifties, renamed it Kondalilla which is an Aboriginal word for running water. The area was first officially protected in 1906 as a recreational area, becoming a national park in 1945.Access is easiest by road from Flaxton, east of the park. There is a large picnic area where there are toilet facilities (non potable water). There are two tracks which lead to the upper falls swimming hole. A longer circuit track will take you to the bottom pool which is not suitable for swimming. Allow at least two hours for the circuit trip, which in some places is close to the cliff edge and is not fenced.Camping in the park is not permitted.FaunaThe park provides habitat for 107 bird species. It is also home to the rare Pouched Frog. The vulnerable plant species, Macadamia integrifolia, also known as the Bopple Nut, grows in the park.FloraProtected within the park is remnant subtropical rainforest. The park contains stands of piccabeen palms, pink ash, hoop pines and casuarinas as well as eucalypt forests and rainforest. The stand of bunya pines is the most easterly in Australia.Start your trip to Montville by creating a personalized itinerary on Inspirock.

Beautiful national park. The falls are incredible and far larger than I thought they would be. I recommend the circuit track it's a medium grade and easy walking. The rockpools are lovely but can get a bit busy however definitely worth a dip after the walk. There are picnic and BBQ facilities so be prepared and make a day of it.
Beautiful area for picnic and swim. Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk comes through here. Sometimes tricky to park on weekends public holidays and school holidays. Little phone reception available here. No transport services easily available . Good toilet fascilities within day use area. Had a sick walker with us today and found the nearby Elements Cafe and staff very helpful and generous of their time in helping us out. Had an excellent coffee there .
It was such a beautiful walk down to the falls! We took our 2yro and he walk all the way down all by himself and if it hadn't of rained on the back up he probably would have made it all the way back up too so it's not a super steep dangerous walk. It's a great walk to do as a family to get your kids outside to enjoy nature! The water was absolutely freezing when we went but we expected it to be like Gardner's falls that way
Nice place to visit, one of the best day trip(or half at least) destination near Brisbane. Equally good for family with or without kids. Nice walk and pleasant view of fall and rock pool, if you are a good swimmer certainly wouldn't miss a chance to swim in natural pool.
Arrived around 10am on a Saturday morning and the car park was busy so had to park a little up the street. Decided to walk the falls circuit which took just over an hour for two relatively new hikers, including few brief stops for photos along the way. The hike itself was pretty easy as there are stairs and paths the entire way. It did get warm as there is very little breeze due to the rainforest cover, however this is what makes the walk so nice! Water hole at the top of the Falls is a perfect spot to cool off and relax at the end of the trail.
