Queens Gardens, Perth

4.5
#5 of 18 in Parks in Perth
Located on a former brickworks site, Queens Gardens includes lakes filled with water lilies, huge displays of flowers, sprawling lawns, and a Peter Pan statue, replicated from a figure located in London’s Kensington Gardens. The park opened to the public in 1898, and during the years leading up to World War I, often served as an elegant garden party venue. A bench located at the very center of the park was gifted to the city of Perth by an anonymous donor, after a failed marriage proposal to his girlfriend. The bench, featured in the movie "Notting Hill," is inscribed "To June who loved this garden from Joseph who always sat beside her." • This is a small but stunning park. A lazy relaxing day to be had watching the ducks and sitting on the dark green and lush lawn.  more »
  • These are some nice gardens to relax in and read your book. They are well presented and well looked after, and are in a great location being in the center of town.  more »

  • Beautiful park, perfect to relax, lots of grass to sit down an have a quiet moment, picnic or read a book. You can also find the original chair used in Notting Hill and replica of a Peter pan statue.
  • My fav place in Perth. I'd like to get married in this stunning slice of heaven. Whether you're coming for a quiet place to read your Agatha Christie novel and enjoy a local cup of Joe, or you're on an adventurous picnic with 10 of your closest friends, this is the location for you. The weather ways seems to be fair as soon as you step through her gates. With seams on the pond and flowers everywhere it truly does transport you to a place Allen Wonderland, and you wonder will a white rabbit be seen with his pocket watch in his paw grumbling aloud about being late.
  • Lovely tranquil park with a large pond that attracts waterfowl including black swans.
  • Lovely park for a break and birds watching (black cygnet). A bit of fresh air on hot burning days.
  • A beautiful park that nevertheless allows those from the smelly class to supply it's manicured lawns. One star off cos I couldn't find any Queens. Some fairies, a couple of metrosexuals but no Queens. Dancing or otherwise Unless they meant residents of Queens borough, NYC None of those either, so I couldn't ask
