  • St Kilda beach is one of my favourites in Melbourne. It is a safe and clean beach with all you could want in sun, sand, restaurants and bars. The sea is lovely and clear and the waters generally calm....  more »
  • The bars and clubs around St Kilda are lively but the beach is probably the worst I have been to in Australia (east and south coast). Will definitely return to St Kilda, but definitely not for the bea...  more »
  • This is a great beach getaway only 30 minutes or less by tram from Melbourne CBD! The beach is well kept and there are many things to do in the surrounding area! Growing up on the east coast of Canada...  more »

  • This is one of the closest beach from the city. Very easy to reach by public transport, you can get tram from all major places in city and travel till St Kilda beach. Very good place to hangout and have a picnic. Very good during sunsets. You can also walk along the pier to reach end if pier, after sunset you could sight many penguins walking around, this is best part of the st Kilda. It's also a good costal walk from st Kilda to Brighton beach. You can also have a good city skyline view from the pier.
  • LOVE the beach. Nice old school shops nearby. Variety of old school bakeries there. Beach is clean and there a Luna park nearby . It is a short tram ride from Melbourne CBD, highly recommended for a tourist. :-)
  • Best beach by far. Great to watch the wind surfers. Nice clean fresh air. Doesn't smell like some beaches do.
  • St Kilda Beach is a beach located in St Kilda, Port Phillip, Victoria, Australia, 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) south from the Melbourne city centre. It is Melbourne's most famous beach. The beach is a sandy beach about 700 metres (2,300 ft) long between St Kilda Marina and St Kilda Harbour along Jacka Boulevard and St Kilda Esplanade. It is located at the north-east corner of Port Phillip and is protected from ocean swell, though still affected by strong westerly winds. With Port Phillip Bay being open to the sea, St Kilda Beach is subject to regular tides.
  • It's one of many beaches. Great, near Luna park and stores, eatery, and many other things.
