The gateway to Queensland's tropical north, Cairns is a laid-back city best enjoyed outdoors.
On the 4th (Sun), get into the urban bustle at Tanks Arts Centre, then pause for some serene contemplation at St Monica's Cathedral, and then browse the eclectic array of goods at Night Markets. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 5th (Mon): discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour.

Adelaide to Cairns is an approximately 4-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. In March, Cairns is a bit warmer than Adelaide - with highs of 36°C and lows of 27°C. On the 6th (Tue), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel to Brisbane.

Known for its "green" development and north-facing beach, Noosa is a natural getaway.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Artisans Gallery and Art on Cairncross. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at The Original Eumundi Markets and The Real McCaul. Venture out of the city with trips to Maleny Cheese (in Maleny), Atrium Gallery at Buderim Craft Cottage (in Buderim) and Opals Down Under (in Glenview). There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Noosa Main Beach, make a trip to Hastings Street, and look for gifts at Berkelouw Book Barn.
