Lying in the Tamar Valley and surrounded by forested hills, the grid-patterned city of Launceston boasts shaded avenues, vibrant street life, and a cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Entally Estate and Brickendon Colonial Farm Village. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Bay of Fires Winery and Holm Oak Vineyards. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Launceston: Low Head Pilot Station Maritime Museum (in Low Head), Deloraine Creative Studios (in Deloraine) and Iron Pot Bay Vineyard (in Rowella).
