Start off your visit on the 7th (Mon): take in the pleasant sights at Bicentennial Walkway, then look for gifts at Beach Book Boutique, then zoom along the surf with a waterskiing or jet-skiing adventure, and finally kick back and relax at Airlie Beach Lagoon.

A neat, cosmopolitan city of shaded plazas and laid-back neighborhoods, Cairns serves as a popular base for exploration of the surrounding region and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as a center for watersport activities like surfing or waterskiing.
Visiting Hartley's Crocodile Adventures and Esplanade Boardwalk will get you outdoors. Do some cultural sightseeing at St Monica's Cathedral and Bones and Jones. When in Cairns, make a side trip to see Palm Cove Beach in Palm Cove, approximately 32 minutes away. Spend the 9th (Wed) among aquatic life with a scuba or snorkeling tour. There's still lots to do: get into the urban bustle at Tanks Arts Centre, buy something for everyone on your list at Smithfield Shopping Centre, stop by Cairns Central Shopping Centre, and hunt for treasures at Rusty's Market.
