A relaxed town of tree-shaded streets and scenic coastal stretches, Broome gained renown as a center of the pearling industry in the late 19th century.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Reddell Beach and SSJG Heritage Centre. Get a sense of the local culture at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cathedral and Short St Gallery. Spend the 13th (Mon) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. There's still lots to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Broome Bird Observatory, kick back and relax at Cable Beach, get up close to creatures of the deep with a dolphin and whale watching tour, and stroll through Broome Town Beach.

Sydney to Broome is an approximately 9-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 2 hours traveling from Sydney to Broome.
