Coles Bay

Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
Devil's Corner Cellar Door and Cape Tourville Lighthouse are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Nature & Wildlife Tours and Freycinet Marine Farm. Change things up with a short trip to East Coast Natureworld in Bicheno (about 32 minutes away). Spend the 15th (Tue) exploring nature at Freycinet National Park. There's still lots to do: walk along Wineglass Bay Lookout.

Drive from Launceston to Coles Bay in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and car; or do a combination of bus and taxi. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Wed) to allow time to drive to Hobart.
