Very much a town with an emphasis on the tropical lifestyle, Airlie Beach offers exotic surroundings with palm trees and charming, sandy beaches.
Escape the urban bustle at Horseshoe Bay and Smalleys Beach. We've included these beaches for you: Grays Bay and Whitehaven Beach. Change things up with these side-trips from Airlie Beach: Bredl's Wild Farm (in Bloomsbury) and Bowen (Mother Beddock Rock & Bowen Historical Society and Museum). There's still lots to do: paddle through the water with a kayaking and canoeing tour, go for a walk through Bicentennial Walkway, choose your vessel at Charter Yachts Australia, and tour on your own time with Cumberland Charter Yachts.

Queensland’s biggest town and state capital, Brisbane has an attractive, manicured image based around its riverside aesthetic as well as the contrast between its high-rise center and extensive urban greenery.
Take a break from the city and head to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and Moffat Beach. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Bunjurgen Estate Vineyard and Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre. Go for a jaunt from Brisbane to Carool to see Ilnam Winery about 1h 50 min away. There's still lots to do: examine the collection at Museum of Brisbane, wander the streets of West End, explore and take pictures at Suncorp Stadium, and admire the masterpieces at Queensland Art Gallery.
