Looking out across the Bass Strait towards Melbourne, Devonport stands out against a backdrop of rolling hills, pastures, and coastal bluffs.
On the 27th (Fri), look for gifts at World Of Marbles, then look for gifts at The Emporium, and then relax in the rural setting at Turners Beach Berry Patch. On the 28th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: enjoy the sand and surf at Coles Beach and then explore the activities along Dove Lake Circuit.

Adelaide to Devonport is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of bus and ferry. Traveling from Adelaide in July, expect Devonport to be little chillier, temps between 13°C and 2°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 29th (Sun) to allow enough time to drive to Launceston.

Lying in the Tamar Valley and surrounded by forested hills, the grid-patterned city of Launceston boasts shaded avenues, vibrant street life, and a cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Take a break from the city and head to Cataract Gorge Reserve and The Tamar Valley. Venture out of the city with trips to Holm Oak Vineyards (in Rowella), Longford (National Rose Garden & Woolmers Estate) and Goaty Hill Wines (in Kayena). There's lots more to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at City Park, do a tasting at Elmslie Winery, make a trip to The Town Clock, and take in the exciting artwork at Design Centre Tasmania.

Getting from Devonport to Launceston by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a bus. In July, daily temperatures in Launceston can reach 13°C, while at night they dip to 2°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 1st (Wed) to allow time to drive to Coles Bay.

Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
Get outdoors at Wineglass Bay Lookout and Coles Bay Jetty. Step out of Coles Bay to go to Swansea and see Melshell Oysters, which is approximately 46 minutes away. Spend the 4th (Sat) exploring nature at Freycinet National Park. And it doesn't end there: tour the pleasant surroundings at Friendly Beaches, enjoy the sand and surf at Honeymoon Bay, and learn about winemaking at Gala Estate Vineyard.

Traveling by car from Launceston to Coles Bay takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and car; or do a combination of bus and taxi. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Port Arthur.

On the 5th (Sun), identify plant and animal life at Tasmanian Devil Unzoo, appreciate the extensive heritage of Port Arthur Historic Site, and then steep yourself in history at Model Prison. Keep things going the next day: trek along Three Capes Track, contemplate the long history of Coal Mines Historic Site, then see the interesting displays at Federation Artisan Chocolate, and finally appreciate the history behind Dog Line.

You can drive from Coles Bay to Port Arthur in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In August, plan for daily highs up to 15°C, and evening lows to 4°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Mon) so you can drive to Hobart.

Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
Step out of the city life by going to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary and Mount Wellington. Spend the 10th (Fri) exploring nature at Southwest National Park. There's much more to do: step off the mainland to explore Macquarie Island, see the interesting displays at Mona, snap pictures at Richmond Bridge, and take in nature's colorful creations at Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens.
