Queensland’s biggest town and state capital, Brisbane has an attractive, manicured image based around its riverside aesthetic as well as the contrast between its high-rise center and extensive urban greenery.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Suncorp Stadium and Eagle Street Pier. Take a break from Brisbane with a short trip to Harbour Town Outlet Shopping Centre in Biggera Waters, about 1h 25 min away. There's still lots to do: identify plant and animal life at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, snap pictures at Story Bridge, get a sense of history and politics at City Hall, and have some family-friendly fun at South Bank Parklands.
