Start off your visit on the 10th (Fri): take in nature's colorful creations at Roma Street Parkland and then get your game on at South Bank Parklands. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: identify plant and animal life at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and then get great views at Mount Coot-tha Lookout.

Very much a town with an emphasis on the tropical lifestyle, Airlie Beach offers exotic surroundings with palm trees and charming, sandy beaches.
Kick off your visit on the 12th (Sun): get some thrills on the water with a speed boat tour. Keep things going the next day: kick back and relax at Airlie Beach Lagoon, then zoom along the surf with a waterskiing or jet-skiing adventure, and then head off the coast to Whitsunday Islands.

A lush headland that's part of the forested Daintree Region, Cape Tribulation was so named by Lieutenant--later Captain--Cook in 1770, when his ship ran aground in the area.
On the 17th (Fri), identify plant and animal life at Daintree National Park. On the next day, hike along Dubuji Boardwalk, kick back and relax at Myall Beach, and then experience rural life at Cape Trib Farm.

A neat, cosmopolitan city of shaded plazas and laid-back neighborhoods, Cairns serves as a popular base for exploration of the surrounding region and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as a center for watersport activities like surfing or waterskiing.
