Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Visiting Anvil Beach and Little Beach will get you outdoors. Relax by the water at Cheynes Beach and Greens Pool. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Albany: Shelley Beach (in Denmark), Lowlands Beach (in Lowlands) and South Coast WoodWorks Gallery (in Youngs Siding).
