Exmouth

Exmouth is a town on the tip of the North West Cape in Western Australia. Step out of the city life by going to Turquoise Bay and Ningaloo Reef. Next up on the itinerary: have unforgettable encounters with a shark diving experience, tour the pleasant surroundings at Jurabi Point Beach, view the masterpieces at The Ningaloo Gallery, and enjoy the sand and surf at Osprey Bay.

Esperance is a town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, on the Southern Ocean coastline approximately 720km east-southeast of the state capital, Perth. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Cape Le Grand National Park and Blue Haven Beach. Escape the urban bustle at Twilight Bay and Thistle Cove. There's much more to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Hellfire Bay, contemplate the long history of Esperance Stonehenge, explore and take pictures at Great Ocean Drive, and enjoy the sand and surf at Lucky Bay.

You can fly from Exmouth to Esperance in 6.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and bus; or drive. When traveling from Exmouth in December, plan for cooler days and little chillier nights in Esperance: temperatures range from 30°C by day to 15°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 23rd (Sun) early enough to go by car to Albany.

Albany

Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
For shopping fun, head to South Coast WoodWorks Gallery or Albany Town Hall. You'll get in some beach time at Greens Pool and Anvil Beach. When in Albany, make a side trip to see Lights Beach in Denmark, approximately 58 minutes away. There's lots more to do: see the interesting displays at National Anzac Centre, get engrossed in the history at Albany's Historic Whaling Station, kick back and relax at Little Beach, and explore and take pictures at Replica of the Brig Amity.

Getting from Esperance to Albany by car takes about 5 hours. Other options: fly; or take a bus. Traveling from Esperance in December, expect nights in Albany to be about the same, around 13°C, while days are slightly colder, around 26°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 27th (Thu) so you can go by car to Margaret River.
