Named after Lord Byron's grandfather, Byron Bay is not only famous as the easternmost point of Australia, but even more so as one of the liveliest vacation spots in the country.
Visiting Bundjalung National Park and Broken Head Beach will get you outdoors. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Cape Byron Lighthouse and Bexhill Open Air Cathedral. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Byron Bay: Tropical Fruit World (in Duranbah), Spooky Beach (in Angourie) and Cook Island Aquatic Reserve (in Fingal Head). There's still lots to do: trek along Cape Byron Walking Track, stroll through Pippi Beach, look for gifts at Byron Bay Cookies Retail Store, and enjoy the sand and surf at Lennox Head Beach.

Relax by the water at Newcastle Beach and Nobbys Beach. Take a break from the city and head to Tomaree Head and Munmorah State Conservation Area. Located off of the Great Western Highway, Katoomba is the main hub of the City of Blue Mountains.
Your inner history buff will appreciate The National Pass and Lennox Bridge. Get outdoors at Pulpit Rock Lookout and Logan Brae Orchard. When in Katoomba, make a side trip to see Norman Lindsay Gallery & Museum in Faulconbridge, approximately 32 minutes away. On the 9th (Sun), dedicate a day to the elevated beauty of Perry's Lookdown.
