Adelaide River War Cemetery and Christ Church Cathedral Darwin will appeal to history buffs. Family-friendly places like Litchfield National Park and East Point Reserve will thrill your kids. Change things up with these side-trips from Darwin: Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve (in Humpty Doo), Batchelor Butterfly Farm and Pet Garden (in Batchelor) and Litchfield National Park (Wangi Falls Art & Cultural Centre, Wangi Falls, & more). Explore Brisbane's surroundings by going to Springbrook (Natural Bridge & Springbrook National Park), Fudgyboombahs (in Montville) and Caloundra Lighthouses (in Kings Beach). Fly from Darwin to Brisbane in 8 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Plan for a bit cooler temperatures traveling from Darwin in July, with highs in Brisbane at 24°C and lows at 11°C. On the 7th (Tue), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel to Cairns.
