Melbourne to Launceston is an approximately 4-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and bus; or do a combination of ferry and car. Traveling from Melbourne in January, things will get little chillier in Launceston: highs are around 28°C and lows about 12°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Wed) to allow enough time to drive to Coles Bay.

Start off your visit on the 16th (Wed): do a tasting at Spring Vale Wines, then let little ones run wild at Melshell Oysters, then take a leisurely stroll along Coles Bay Jetty, and finally trek along Wineglass Bay Lookout. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 17th (Thu): kick back and relax at Honeymoon Bay, do a tasting at Gala Estate Vineyard, and then learn about winemaking at Devil's Corner Cellar Door.

Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
Take a break from Hobart with a short trip to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary in Brighton, about 30 minutes away. There's much more to do: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Wellington, kick back and relax at Opossum Bay Beach, contemplate the long history of Battery Point, and examine the collection at Mona.
