Walk from the Adelaide city center to discover the urban oasis that is the Adelaide Botanic Garden. Once here, visit the Palm House, a Victorian glasshouse containing Malagasy arid plant life. Enter the fragrant National Rose Trial Garden to see the different rose varieties that can grow in the local climate. Stand in the curvilinear-glass Bicentennial Conservatory and observe a delicate ecosystem including noisy pittas birds, spiders, and centipedes. Make sure you also stop by First Creek Wetland, a relatively recent addition, where you can learn about the importance of wetlands to urban environments. Adelaide Botanic Garden Reviews
It's very serene and well kept. You should not miss the Museum of Economic Botany. It's the only one that has retained its original form and content in the world. There are lots of green areas for you to relax and take in some of the freshest airs Adelaide has to offer. I'd definitely visit a few more times to explore the flora and fauna.
This quite literally one of my favourite places in Adelaide. You can walk around beautifully set gardens and not hear the city traffic bustling past on the surrounding main roads. Pack a picnic blanket and enjoy some lunch on the many grasses areas or enjoy more shaded seating in your choice of gazebos. There are some coffee shops dotted in the middle of the gardens as well as a restaurant that doubles as a function room that regularly caters for weddings. You can also buy some beautiful and exotic plants at The Diggers Club if you want to try growing your own fruits, vegetables and many other plants and trees. Take some time out of your day to enjoy the Adelaide Botanical Gardens and you’ll instantly feel more relaxed.
