Adelaide Botanic Garden, Adelaide

Walk from the Adelaide city center to discover the urban oasis that is the Adelaide Botanic Garden. Once here, visit the Palm House, a Victorian glasshouse containing Malagasy arid plant life. Enter the fragrant National Rose Trial Garden to see the different rose varieties that can grow in the local climate. Stand in the curvilinear-glass Bicentennial Conservatory and observe a delicate ecosystem including noisy pittas birds, spiders, and centipedes. Make sure you also stop by First Creek Wetland, a relatively recent addition, where you can learn about the importance of wetlands to urban environments. • Nice place for a, walk and picnic.. No there is a cafe, kiosk and restaurant also gardening shops.. They also provide guided tours... My son enjoyed playing in the water feature.. Amazing place in the middle of the city.. Calm quite and huge...
  • the best botanical gardens I have ever been to. There are parts you can take if you only want an overview but it's so easy to immerse yourself for hours through the enormous gardens. Great place to picnic or just spend the day with family and friends
  • Beautiful, peaceful and tranquil. Always something new to discover. Been going since I was a child and it still holds the same fascination for me. Make sure you visit the big fish pond in the Amazon Waterlily Pavilion (next to the museum) and say hi to the ducks in the pond. If you have children a roll down the small hill by the old palm house is a must.
  • Well done Adelaide. Gardens are extensive and well maintained. You will also find the Digger Club shop here. Good place for kids.
  • Beautiful garden with so many things to see. Excellent for a picnic or a stroll with family, kids or just by yourself to collect your thoughts. There's a Botanic museum which is interesting and lots of history with a section on medicinal plants and herbs.
