Adelaide Oval, Adelaide

One of the country’s most iconic sporting venues, Adelaide Oval holds an elevated status as the home of cricket and Australian rules football in South Australia. Imposing and white-roofed, the stadium towers above the leafy suburb of North Adelaide. Constructed in 1871, the 2012 redevelopment of Adelaide Oval brought the historic stadium in line with the modern demands of large sporting venues. The stadium often hosts concerts, with artists such as Elton John, Madonna, and Fleetwood Mac having performed there. • I have been on the Adelaide Oval tour, was great to see the areas that you wouldn't normally get to see as a spectator. Have been to the Cricket and football here, loved the atmosphere and there is no...  more »

  • It may not hold the same capacity of the bigger eastern stadiums, but this iconic oval has the location, the history and the features that are second to none in the country. Beautifully manicured oval by the same green keeper over many decades, ensures a stable and reliable playing surface. The staff and management ensure the spectator's experience is first class, regardless of your ticket. Free buses and trains to the venue means you don't waste time looking for a parking spot, or being scalped by over-priced parking stations. The facilities and amenities are of the highest standard, manned by friendly and helpful staff. Full amenities with all the expected food drinks and beverages available.
  • The fact that you can just walk in and walk around the oval....... for free is Awesome !! (Free as at 22/08/2018) The free Bradman Collection museum is a great insight into Australia's greatest ever cricketer. You can take tours and walk the top of the Riverbank stand, but there are costs included in those. It is a very picturesque oval and a must visit when in Adelaide !
  • Wow. Just wow. Nothing much else can be said, but I'll say it anyway. The Adelaide Oval is the single greatest display of human ingenuity on the planet, it's more than just an oval; it is a testament to humanity at its absolute finest. I had the honor and privilege of visiting this number 1 attraction this July and my only complaint is that I saw such a marvelous site so early on in my life, everything I see now is just going to be flat out inferior. From the incredible historic scoreboard to the impeccable, unique (Can't be seen anywhere else!) grass, this oval has something for everyone, especially thrill seeking adrenaline junkies. I give the Adelaide Oval my highest recommendation and a 5 out of 5 star rating, even though that score still doesn't give it justice. If you visit Adelaide and don't visit this site; what even are you...
  • Beautiful venue. Friendly staff. Great fun night. Easy to get to by train, and easy to leave at the end of the game. Great atmosphere. Adelaide people are friendly and fun!!
  • What a fantastic venue. Arrived early and had coffee at one of the many bars and cafes on the river front. Easy access and easy exit. North Terrace looks great at night. What a beautiful safe city Will definitely come back here again.
