Dinny Goonan Wines, Bambra

4.8
#145 of 217 in Wineries in Victoria
Set amongst the vines, the Cellar Door at Dinny Goonan Wines offers an authentic wine-tasting experience. Sit on the deck and enjoy a cheese platter with a glass or two of beautiful wine or a coffee made from locally roasted beans. Browse the produce table crowded with local preserves, oils and olives.

This small and unpretentious winery is an absolute gem, producing multi award-winning cool climate Shiraz, deliciously crisp Riesling, aromatic Pinot Noir, textural Pinot Grigio, savoury Rose, a rare and refreshing Sparkling Riesling and a luscious Botrytis Semillon from grapes grown on the estate or nearby.

Visit the winery, meet Scout the winery-wonder-dog and talk to Dinny about what makes his wines so unique. Situated on the edge of the Otways just half an hour from Geelong, reward yourself with the pleasure of the lesser travelled path, and go on to enjoy the delights of the Otway Harvest Trail.

  • This isn’t five stars for luxury - it’s five stars for the authentic experience. Great hospitality from Bruce and his canine assistant Scout. Sparkling Riesling and Cabernet a highlight. It’s a big shed really, but you can sit outside under trees and they serve a generously proportioned cheeseboard.
  • Loved Scout the friendly dog. Coffee and cheese platters available. Wines were flavoursome and fruity. A few flies on the day we went (mid summer). Beautiful roses and vines.
