Busselton Jetty, Busselton

4.4
The longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere, Busselton Jetty stretches almost 2 km (1.2 mi) into the sea and ends with an underwater observatory. From a depth of 8 m (26 ft) below sea level, you can observe over 300 marine species, including colorful tropical corals and a variety of fish, sponges, and invertebrates swimming right in front of the observatory's 11 viewing windows. Children enjoy the Jetty Train, which seats around 50 visitors. This unusual train trip across the sea offers views of frolicking dolphins and local fishermen snatching their catch. Often described as Australia's greatest artificial reef, this jetty serves up both education and recreation. • Had a great time! The train looks naff but was fantastic, especially with our little one who loved it. We went down the underwater observatory and were really impressed with the number of fish and different species - that was in winter. Apparently even better in the summer. Lovely walk back down the jetty. Recommend
  • Wonderful place, children loved the train ride on the jetty. Nice to just spend time on the beach and surrounding park area with family. Children loved the space to run around or just play with sand at the beach. They also enjoyed the Stocker Preston Express jetty train. Beautiful views. For those into history, Busselton Visitor Center is interesting to visit too.
