Nestled in Queensland’s rugged central highlands, Carnarvon Gorge is noted for its towering sandstone cliffs, colorful side gorges, indigenous rock art sites, and diverse plant and animal life. Created by water erosion, this gorge is around 30 km (19 mi) long and 600 m (1,968 ft) deep.
