Come to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary to feed Rainbow Lorikeets, a wildly colorful type of Australia parrot. Alex Griffiths originally founded the sanctuary in 1947 to prevent these birds from eating his flower plantation. Today, visitors provide twice-daily feeding to giant flocks of the free-flying parrots. Navigate on a Segway the rest of the 27 hectares (67 acres), where you can cuddle with koalas, hang out with kangaroos, and observe crocodiles and Tasmanian Devils. With our custom trip planner, Gold Coast attractions like Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • What an amazing place for a family day out. The children loved it. Especially feeding and getting close to kangaroos and there are lots of other animals you can watch feeding as well. They have a beaut tram that you can ride for a look around the sanctuary - there is so much to see. You can also walk around of course and have great views of animals and birds etc. The staff are very friendly and efficient providing a welcoming and wonderful experience. Next door to the sanctuary, on the day we went, was a fresh foodie market - which added to a the whole experience.
  • We loved our visit here. The kids enjoyed feeding the kangaroos, riding the train and getting their photo taken with a koala. We have that best photo taken with a koala and we thank the staff for ensuring both the kids and koala were looking at the camera! The park is meticulously maintained and you can actually see the animals in the exhibits.
