Dandenong Ranges National Park, Dandenong

4.7
The lush Dandenong Ranges National Park provide an ideal escape from urban Melbourne. Among these low mountains--which rise to 633 m (2,076 ft)--you'll find a dense temperate rainforest of towering mountain ash trees. Colorful with flowers in spring, deep green in summer, and occasionally snow-dusted in winter, the area offers numerous activities and charming villages. Head to SkyHigh atop Mount Dandenong for views back to Melbourne. Stop and smell the flowers at the National Rhododendron Gardens or hike through dense stands of soaring mountain ash trees in Sherbrooke Forest. Wander around the shops and galleries in Olinda, Belgrave, and Sassafras. If you want to spend a night or two, reserve a cottage or guesthouse nestled in the woods near one of the area's friendly towns. • Mount Danton is located in the outskirts of Moburn, which used to be a forest, so there are small fires to send trees, and when the loggers can get more wood in the fire, so the fire rides are sitting in the window at the same time, and the small fire is no longer wood, but the mountain forest, This small fire has a porter sitting on a window like a logger of the year, but this year a car hit the small fire, for the safety management of the customer to prohibit this line. Usually to sit in the small fire time will ride to the old steaming fire, very characteristic, but I came to the day is not very good, ink ben over 40 degrees, in order to prevent forest fires, small fire instead of diesel, unfortunately. In addition, many shops, flowers are also because of the high parking and opening, so this trip to Danlushan a lot of things are empty.

  • I loved being with nature and this is the best in the east where you can spend relaxing time by yourself or with a family. There are other things to do within the region like walking up on 1000 steps which will take you over an hour, take a sip of your favourite coffee in the local cafe shops, and take a glimpse of the overlooking at the sky restaurant especially on sunset
  • Absolutely beautiful walk. Was a great way to escape the city for a while and walk with nature. Tracks are fairly well kept and not too steep if you know people who struggle with hills. We went in the afternoon and it was just perfect seeing the sun shine through the trees!
