Shark Bay, Denham

4.5
#1 of 9 in Wildlife in Denham
One of the first places visited by Europeans in 1616, Shark Bay is a World Heritage Site that's home to over 10,000 sea cows, a large number of bottlenose dolphins, and 26 other threatened Australian species. These animals live around the area's shallow banks, peninsulas, and islands. The protected status of the land has kept these species safe for many years, and the Australian Wildlife Conservatory fights to keep it that way. Your visit to the national parks surrounding the area will give you a chance to see these species in their natural environment. Put Shark Bay and other Denham attractions into our Denham travel website , and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Shark Bay seems to be a small peninsula on a map, but it will be a half hour drive from the first line to the Shark Bay to go to Monkey Mia from the Beacon which is a World heritage site. On the peninsula, you can also see animals and fish such as the coast, Shell Beach, kangaroo, emu, dolphin, and cruise turtles, dugong, and sea snakes. In August, Shark Bay is very beautiful with wild flower yellow, white and pink flowers covered along the road. August is cold and unsuitable to enter the sea, but both sides of the road that can only be seen at this time are able to drive on a road covered with a flower carpet.

  • The water is very clear and shallow enough to see the fish and sharks swimming around in the waters. It is a lovely place to get a lovely view of the coast line.  more »
