Blow Hole, Eaglehawk Neck

#5 of 8 in Outdoors in Eaglehawk Neck
Carved by persistent waves and coastal winds millions of years ago, Blow Hole amazes visitors with the sheer power of its spray rising up to the height of 10 m (33 ft) at high tide. One of the many intriguing geological formations in the Tasman National Park, the blowhole is a popular and much-photographed tourist spot, so expect to see people queuing to get close to it. The intensity of the spray depends on the power of the waves and ocean swells. Planning Eaglehawk Neck trip won't be overwheling when you use's Insprock itinerary maker.

  • The blow hole wasn't that impressive, but well maintained. We went to the cliff closer to the ocean and watched the swell crash against the rocks there which was better. Public toilets available if you need them!
  • One of many Nature’s artworks in Tasmania. Showing the power of gentle water over hard rocks patiently eroding it. It has all the time in the world.
