Stokes National Park is a national park in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, 538 km south-east of Perth.
The National Park is located 80km west of Esperance on the southern coast. A vehicle entry fee applies to Stokes National Park.
The Park is named after Stokes Inlet, which lies within the park and is its best known feature.
The area of the park is 9726ha excluding 16ha that is part of the historic Moir homestead.
The park is mostly areas of coastal heath and scrubland, smaller areas of low dense forest and sandy beaches around the inlet and coast to the south of the park.
The National Park is a relinquished pastoral lease, originally known as Fanny Cove Station, which in 1951 became Young River Station. It was then reverted to crown land and national park status by 1973. The Moir homestead ruins from the 1873 establishment at Fanny Cove was on a heritage list by 1993, but has since been destroyed by fire.

  • Drove here with a local who knew the area, thank god for this as to try to find this place without knowing it ahead of time could be hard. Do not bring pets as they have poison baits set for foxes. Th...  more »
  • The scenery along the beach is more interesting than the beach itself. There are trees half submerged in the water which make a very good photo opportunity, the drive is quite pleasant and engaging.  more »

  • Went to Fanny Cove and Sandy Cape. Basic camping at both places with long drop toilets. 4WD access to beach at Fanny Cove but not at Sandy Cape. Beautiful beaches and as usual crystal clear water. Awesome day trip or stay a night or two. National Park fees apply.
  • Off the beaten track; very close to nature.
