  • We were dropped off by the team of the broken river mountain resort on a hiking trail along the river and are migrated back then about 4 h to the hotel. It was a scenic tour on not always flat paths, which made the whole thing even more interesting. We have birds, gr. Monitor lizards and even a snake. Very worthwhile!

  • We went to Eungella mainly because of the Platypus. The drive there was scenically very beautiful, especially when it came to the curves upwards. The first stop, the Eungella Chalet offers now not the most beautiful views; You can take it out in my opinion. Then it went to two Sky Windows. The first view is not so sparkling, the second is very nice! It has a beautiful panorama. Unfortunately the view due to some Bush fire was somewhat restricted with us and the sea was nowhere to be seen. Then it went to the broken river. You need to mention that just works take place on the local bridge and is closed for pedestrians (mid November 2018). This is a shame, because this is one of the three viewpoints for the Platypus. In both flow directions there is a vantage point. The road is paved and it is not far. We had a good time there, but unfortunately showed despite two hours wait is not a Platypus. However, there are many turtles. We have also seen a water snake. We are moved again - just nature and not a Zoo! So, one should well consider whether to take the ride to. The chances of seeing the cute animals are 5 0-50 I would say! The walks, I can say nothing because we did not.

  • Beautiful little spot with toilet and shower facilities for camping (looked like these may need to be booked). Quiet viewing areas for spotting platypus in the wild. Be there at dawn or dusk and be courteous of others and the wildlife for best chances to see one.
  • What a fantastic spot. Such beauty at our door step.
