National Wool Museum Reviews
This three-level museum tells the story of wool and sheep in Australia. It sounds like it might be boring or dry, but it's terrific! Lots of hands-on activities for kids. Plenty for adults to see and ... more »
This museum tells the story of our wool industry in a well presented and very interesting way. From shearing to knitting. There is so much to learn from making carpet to cardigans. There is also a flo... more »
Been here many times with my daughter, I love the place. It's focused mostly around the whole wool industry from the early settler day right up though the various industrial innovations and developments. They have a massive loom in the middle and if you're lucky enough you'll get to see it going! Down stairs they have an area with changing exhibits which can range from kid friendly school holiday stuff, the usual dinosaur exhibits to serious artists and school art displays. I really like it, I think one of my favorite bits is the old home displays you can walk though and check out stuff from various eras. Reasonable fees to get in and friendly staff too!
Really enjoyed the wool museum. Fir 2 people who grew up on farms. We still learnt something. The gentleman running the loom was terrific and easy to talk to. Happy to share his experience and knowledge.
