Hawk's Head Lookout Reviews
Amazing views of the gorges, beautiful colours and if you are lucky, you may spot one of the endangered Blackfooted Rock Wallabies recently released in the area. more »

Many sites have a positioning in the city or at the entrance of the Park on the cards, so 30 km see more of the real location! The Kalbarri NP is particularly affected by these inaccuracies: it must really be careful and do not hesitate to request modifications in the interest of all. The site is very well laid out (as almost always in Australia an example to follow by the France) with easy access to the photographic platform (200 m). Like other sites of Kalbarri NP to take the time to do a genuine market for 5 to 6 hours, but unfortunately, there is not always time. Pay attention to the heat already well present in the spring (it must be terrible in the summer without counting the flies that they too are already numerous). On the road to access this POI we saw our first Thorny Devil in freedom (we had seen in Perth and Alice Spring vivariums, but this isn't really the same thing). This small reptile Eater ants is as beautiful as completely harmless. Keep an eye on the road leading to not crush them (given its camouflage and its size is not obvious).
Quite a surprise - a well placed lookout at the corner of a river, looking down into its chasm of greens and reds. Very Grand Canyon-esque. Mysterious and pretty. Four stars, because we then discovered even more amazing stops about 20km further on - saving five stars for them, eg. Natures Window. But I’d still recommend this is a brief photo stop on the way - you should be amazed!
Loved the difference between barren landscape and the river in the gorge.
