At Australia's largest single collection of free-flying birds, more than 500 of them will fly around you as you walk through their rainforest habitat. Some might even perch on your shoulder. Have your camera ready as you walk past waterfalls and ponds with lush plant surroundings and view nearly 80 different bird species, including the endangered cassowary, rainbow lorikeets, and cockatoos. Birdworld Kuranda Reviews
Great attraction located at the rear of the Kuranda Heritage Markets. Reasonably priced attraction to suit all ages. This is a fully free flight aviary with many native birds including parakeets, lori... more »
Birds can fly around what is much better as the small cages we saw in other places. But the Cassowary did look a bit sad all alone. Don't expect to see only Australian birds, most are from all around ... more »
Birdworld was great! Definitely worth the trip when in Cairns! The birds are free flying and land on you. Some of them will even have a conversation and a laugh! Make sure to remove all jewellery or anything shiny, pretty much anything that would appeal to a bird. The birds are great and I would definitely do this again. Great for all ages, not just kids! Highly recommended.
Do you want to interact with exotic bird? Do you want bird selfies? If so, this is your place - as you can see from our images below. When they tell you that the birds are going for anything they find interesting, believe them. Buttons, unique hair, metal clips - the macaws worked as a team to take the top button off of a baseball cap that a chap was wearing (you can see that in a picture below), and if there was anything shiny they were on it! The most interactive birds are waiting for you as soon as you enter, and within 10 feet in they will be all over you if you want them to - and quite possibly if you don't. The staff is around to help you out as much as they could, but it's pretty much a world of the birds at that point. The only disappointment was that the cassowary stayed in the shade and hid.
