From elevated walkways through the trees or aboard an all-terrain, amphibious World War II Army Duck, you can explore the 404,686 sq m (100 acres) of World Heritage-listed tropical rainforest at Rainforestation Nature Park. Knowledgeable guides point out and explain the abundance of native plants and animals, including over 40 varieties of exotic fruits, as well as koalas, crocodiles, snakes, and dingoes. The park also works to support and preserve Australia’s indigenous culture. After watching a corroboree--a traditional dance--performance by local Aborigines, you can try your hand at throwing a boomerang or playing the didgeridoo. This is a super fun stop along the way of seeing all that there is to see in Cairns. We we're fortunate enough to get a veteran guide with a wonderful sense of humor, and a vast well of knowledge and experience in the rainforest. He kept us laughing all along the way, and by the time I left I felt a little more confident hiking alone in the woods. The interactive experience with the animals was one of a kind and something I will never forget.
In my opinion it’s not worthy. Some of the guys doing the dance show were with no motivation, they weren’t even moving and doing all the time exactly the same dance. The animals (as every zoo) with no space, the seemed very sad, specially the dingoes, but the seemed well cared. I put 3 stars because I loved the duck tour with Chris. We was very interactive and explained us a lot of interesting facts about all the fauna and flora; that is the only part that I would repite again.
