City Park is a heritage park containing the city's botanic gardens, radio museum, gallery of wood design and furniture, and an enclosed colony of macaque monkeys. The park's monorail operates on most days and is a popular tourist attraction, taking visitors around the area's most notable landmarks. The most prominent buildings at this location are Albert Hall, which was built in 1891; a convention center; and the studios of City Park Radio. The studios are located inside a cottage that once served as the park caretakers' home, and still boast one of the oldest wisteria wines in Australia, planted in 1837. • Still one of my most favorite parks, wheel chair our friendly. Love to visit the monkeys best times are between 9-3.30 (hours vary between summer and winter). Beautiful big trees. Mini Thomas train runs in holidays and weekends think it was $2 a ride and it's a decent trip too so value for money. Free parking on the street around it.
  • This is an excellent park. It is very beautiful and has a lot of open space to play or enjoy your recreation. It is a great location for kids to ride their bikes or scooters due to the network of paved paths. The monkey enclosure is always entertaining. There is also a small but good quality playground that is best for under 10's. Victoria's Cafe is attached at the western end of the park for coffee, morning tea or light lunches.
  • Awesome spot for the family. Monkeys on display. Lots of seating areas and tons of beautiful trees. There's a huge play ground for kids to play on. Amenities are on the block and a huge out door chess set. Lovely spot for a romantic outing or just a friendly picnic.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our walk through this park which was close to our accommodation at the Grand Chanceler. There are plenty of photo opportunities here and quite a few families enjoying a day out. They also have a cute little train that is a hit with the young ones. Recommended.
  • Lovely gardens with spring blossoms and a conservatory full of orchids. A nice place to relax and enjoy the surrounds.
