Sitting on 5 hectares (12.35 acres) by Mena Creek Falls, Paronella Park is the exquisite park Jose Paronella made a reality. To learn about the 7,500 tropical plants and trees that cover the park, take a 45-minute guided tour to hear the story of the park's creation before embarking on a self-guided botanical walk. Admire the castle and relax in the picnic area by the falls, and perhaps stay until the evening for a photo session on the flood-lit grounds. • Paronella Park is a fascinating old castle within falls and rain forest and a nice story of Australia immigration behind. Quite and very relaxing to sleep overnight too. Beautiful falls but you can't really swim in as in 2014 a salt water crocodile has been spotted in the pool. Toilets are very clean and the staff was nice. Although all the good things I wouldn't stop here again. Once is enough. I mean if you are travelling around Queensland and don't have much time and especially money just drive pass this place.
  • Every Year we take visitors here for a tour and to enjoy all the park has to offer. Such an amazing dream that is being kept alive for all to see. My aunt so loved her visit that she wants to come back on her next visit to Cairns. A must see!
  • This place is fantastic. The labour of an immigrant, he built this garden using concrete and steel. It's in poor condition due to the materials he built it out of, but the effect of the ruins peaking out of the tropical greenery makes for a haunting effect. I would have loved to see it when it was new. There is a swimming area here but I don't know if you're allowed in as I went in a chilly winter. If you're a photography buff and in the area, for gods' sake stop in. You won't regret the opportunity.
  • Mark the owner is amazing, he was at the entrance welcoming people he got chatting with my 4 yr old that loves cars and he was amazed by how he knows about cars, anyway he showed interest in his customers and what he does. My family and I enjoyed our day. In the parking there is also someone directing and finding you parking spaces. Staff just make things easy for you from the moment you get there.
  • Very beautiful place with interesting history here at Paronella Park. So unique for Australia. Mark, the owner greets his customers at the door with the friendliest most personable welcome it was hard to walk away! These guys take SO much pride in what they have its really really nice to see. They really know how to do the family owned & run business thing! Highest quality of service and great tour. We also received a free camping voucher but unfortunately didn't time our return journey well and missed it (next time!). Thank you so so much from Adil & Irena (the Moroccan/Australian couple)
