The 26 caves of Naracoorte Caves National Park have preserved a huge collection of fossils, and the park’s Wonambi Fossil Center offers tourists a rare chance to see what this part of the world was like nearly 200,000 years ago. The park, situated in the Limestone Coast tourism region, became a World Heritage Area in 1994. Though the caves are the area’s most notable attraction, the park itself is a tourist destination, with camping grounds, dormitory accommodations for large groups, picnic areas, and a small café. Explore the underground world of Australia’s caverns on a guided tour, led by expert cavers familiar with ancient fossil deposits, and don’t miss the famous Bat Cave, where thousands of bats breed each year. South Australia's World Heritage listed Caves. So educational for adults & children. View fossils. Explore guided (fee) & unguided caves. The town of Naracoorte is worth a visit. A great stop for travellers & holidaying.
Very well laid out set up. We did two tours. The Alexandra and the fossil cave and both our tour guides (Tom and Dani) were brilliant and full of knowledge. Easy to see the pride and passion they both had for these beautiful caves.
