Blackbutt Reserve provides a nature escape from Newcastle. Located in the southwest corner of the suburb of New Lambton, this reserve offers 182 hectares (450 acres) of bushland, nature trails, and recreational facilities. Visit the wildlife exhibits, including ones displaying the Australian king parrot, the brush-tailed rock wallaby, and the eastern long-necked turtle. Hug a koala at Koala Encounters and enjoy a picnic at one of the four picnic areas. Kids can enjoy the onsite playground, and the barbecue area makes a fine place for a picnic. The parking lot can fill on weekends, so try to arrive early if you drive there on a Saturday or Sunday. Blackbutt Reserve Reviews
Há vários locais com possibilidade de ver a fauna australiana e de interagir com ela. Este, definitivamente, é muito fraco se comparado a tantos outros. Não vale a parada. more »There are several places with the possibility of seeing the Australian fauna and interacting with it. This is definitely very weak compared to so many others. It's not worth the stop.
När vi åkte till Blackbutt Reserve förväntade vi oss en stor skog där djuren höll till i olika områden och om man hade tur skulle man se vilda djur. Det visade sig att Blackbutt är en liten djurutstäl... more »When we went to the Blackbutt Reserve we expected a large forest where the animals were in different areas and if you were lucky you would see wild animals. It turned out that Blackbutt is a small animal exhibition for tourists. All the animals are in small cages and the birds can flap but not fly in their cages. We talked to two women who worked there and asked what the purpose was with the park and they replied that it was a "exhibit". If you want to see unfortunate animals in cages and frogs that are on each other for lack of surface, you should go there. I think it sounds unpleasant so do not go there.
