The Bell Tower, Perth

3.7
#2 of 16 in Historic Sites in Perth
Come see one of the largest sets of ringing bells in the world at The Bell Tower. The tower is a modern architectural delight, with its copper and glass bell tower and 18 bells. Climb the spiral staircase to ring the bells yourself. Take a rest at the observation deck and enjoy the views of the Swan River and urban surroundings. If you prefer to stay at ground level, walk on the path inlaid with ceramic tiles around the tower. Opened in 2000 to commemorate the new millennium, The Bell Tower has become a city icon. The Bell Tower is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Perth Edition.

  • The Swan Bell Tower is a good attraction for a city struggling to have an iconic structure such as the Sydney Opera House, Big Ben or Eiffel Tower. It houses historic bells gifted to the city from the...  more »

  • I never knew there is so much knowledge behind the chiming of bells. The educational demonstration of bells with the hands on practice of pulling the rope to chime the bells is fun and a great eye opener. The structure is modern housing 18 bells of different shape and sizes placed in upward or downward position to produce different texture and tone. I am totally in awe.
  • A nice landmark along the Swan River. The park around Elizabeth Quay on your way to the Bell Tower is also an attraction on its own. Make sure you visit this place for a leisurely stroll along Swan River.
  • The Bell Tower attracts your attention when you are roaming around the sprawling Elizabeth Quei area because of it's unique architectural design.Looks sweet and cute, though the commercial high-rise buildings being constructed in the vicinity may dwarf and affect it's charm. Entry ticket is a bit pricey, though, ringing of huge bells, locking a love lock and fantastic view from viewing area may encourage one to buy the ticket for a well deserved entry. As a tourist you do not visit this place so enter and enjoy the experience.Looks beautiful both during day time or in the evenings when it is lit with colourful lights.
  • Expensive but good for tourists visiting Perth. It is quite interesting with a lot of history to see and hands-on activities to do like ringing bells. Probably the best thing you can do in Perth city which is recognized as an actual "tourist attraction".
  • We did the tour, very informative. We got to ring the bells, exciting! Everyone should do the tour 😁
