Meerea Park Wines Reviews
Average wines but service from the attendant was terrible. We had to call her repeatedly to gain her attention even while she was serving us. Some of the explanations on the wines were weak at best. more »
I was tagging along while my husband did a wine tasting here. A lovely female server saw me sitting down and asked if I needed any assistance, and then bought me a glass of water unprompted. Very kind... more »
If I could choose zero stars I would. Extremely rude, unbelievably rude service. We had never tried wines from this maker before and that’s the whole point of a trip to the hunter - to discover new wines. When asked if we had tried Meerea wines before I said we hadn’t and we were met with indignant attitude. When asked what style of wine we liked, we mentioned what we enjoy, and mentioned we also don’t mind a dessert wine. Well, dessert and sweet are obviously dirty words in this place, we were told “we are traditional wine makers I suggest you try the guy down the road, you won’t find any sweet wines in the hunter valley, nobody here makes them”. Despite this shocking response I pointed to the wine on the menu under the bold header “sweet wines” and asked if we could try. It was like we had asked this man to cut his arm off. He poured us each a drizzle, turned his back and walked off to serve another group, completely ignoring us. And he did not return to us. Maybe he forgot the fact that one of us was actually a keen red wine lover and would have loved to try almost everything on the menu. We walked out, bought nothing, and will not be returning. We went home with a carload of wines from other makers, all pleasant, all up for a chat and all keen to give us something to try that we thought would not be for our palette. We bought a few pleasant surprises along the way. Oh and a bunch of local sweet wines that apparently nobody in the hunter produces. Definitely recommend not wasting time here, there is so much more to the hunter than this place.
We did a few wineries before coming here. The lady who serviced us on 12/12/19 looked like she didnt want to be there. Not once she smiled and asked us what we thought about the wine. There was 4 of us but only 3 of us did the wine testing. We brought 2 bottles and she also charged us 2 wine tasting. All the other wineries dont charge us wine tasting if we purchase something. We dont reccomend this place to anyone.
