  • (German and English) We were on the road with Paul Stafford for 12 days. The tour is perfect for lovers of 4 x 4 tours, sand dunes, there are numerous and in various sizes. You should be aware that to drive many hours every day, which is why it is advisable to have more than a driver. The rest in the desert, you could enjoy each evening at a Cozy Campfire we particularly liked. Paul has a great talent for finding the best places for wild camping. He is very well equipped and has everything including winch to to be able to help. Also its driving tips were very useful for us if once came a slightly more difficult position. There he always as Vorderster goes must you whether is oncoming traffic in sight, since all the information on the radio, unable to be passed. With dedication and commitment, he has the history of the respective areas closer to us and took us to various places of interest. Also the comfort was not short, but Paul has ensured that could be bathed in a hot spring and often specified as a shower available. He has organized for us also short-term upgrades from campsite to cabin. The whole tour was carefully organized and executed. Paul has maintained even in stressful situations always calm and humor and always had an anecdote in stock. We travelled with Paul for 12 days. The tour through the Simpson desert is perfect for people who love 4-wheeldrive tours. There are lots of sanddunes in different shapes and variations. You have to be aware that there are severeal hours of driving every day. Our advise is: have more than one person able to drive! We especially enjoyed the quiet evenings at the campfire. Paul is very talented at finding the best campsites in the desert. He is very well equiped and got every tool to help (including a whinch). His how-to-drive-advices were very helpful. He always drives in front, so you do not have to watch out for oncoming traffic because he has a radio every important information to pass to the following vehicles. He told US about the local history and showed US the most intersting sightseeing spots in the area. So we could not only drive a cool tour, but of so learnt about some very important moments of history. The tour offers more comfort than we thought, because there what a hot spring we were allowed to swim in and there were more opportunities to shower than we expected. Short term upgrades from a campsite to a cabin were so possible. The whole tour what properly organised and every activity exactly timed. Paul stayed relaxed even in stressful situation, for example every time someone got stuck. He always kept his the sense of humor and told quite a few funny stories about previous trips and weird encounters. Markus, Barbara, Natalie Switzerland

  • Well worth the trip. If you take your dog, gets some boots for it as the dessert has little spikey thorns which hurt dogs feet.
  • It is a place of beauty, resilience, contrasting moods and colour. Its windswept landscape comprises more than 1,100 dunes, shaped into long red waves by westerly winds, exhibiting a diversity of landforms and providing habitats for a range of flora and fauna. It’s steeped in Aboriginal and European history and is of great ecological and cultural importance as well as its status as one of Australia’s great wilderness areas.
