Established in 1827, Australian Museum is the country's oldest museum, with an international reputation in the fields of natural history and indigenous studies. Located in the heart of the city, near Hyde Park, the museum includes collections of vertebrate and invertebrate zoology, mineralogy, paleontology, and anthropology. I think the admission was $15 for adults. The price was good, but there were a lot of exhibits and i enjoyed it.
more »It is a museum of a historic building near Hyde Park. This museum is said to be the oldest museum in Australia. Admission is available for a fee, but it is recommended for those who are interested in learning about Australia's nature, animals and history.
A truly wonderful museum, that in its own right is a very integral part of the modern heritage of Sydney. While it won't stand up to the sorts of massive Museums found in Europe and North America, it is still a trove of interesting discoveries and a wonderful range of specimens. Staff are particularly wonderful, friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!
This museum is massive, so much to see you'll need +5 hrs to properly see all its content. I use to come here as a kid and I still enjoy it now. So much to see and great variety of things to see.
