#17 of 1,049 in Things to do in Sydney
Starting at a height of 250 m (820 ft) above the ground, Sydney Tower Eye Observation Deck provides outstanding panoramic views of the city and its harbor. Walk around the Eye, reading information about the wind speed, direction, and sway amplitude outside, and then watch video footage from around Sydney in the 4D cinema. If you've joined an organized tour of Sydney Tower, it will likely bring you to Skywalk, an open-air platform with a glass floor encircling the Eye at a height of 268 m (879 ft). • We had a great view from here. It’s nice for a short view but nothing to stay for a long time. Everyone should decide if it’s worth the money for a short look.  more »
  • While in Sydney, this was one of the sights I really wanted to see. We only went to the two observation decks. The cost for two was $46.00 AU dollars. The glass viewing areas are really great. There a...  more »

  • “Happy birthday babe.” Said my wonderful girlfriend, as she pushed her hand through my greying hair. Luckily, our tickets hadn’t expired, but unfortunately the tag on our car had. We’d been in line for what could’ve been months... even years. I wanted to YouTube whatever new music had come out since I’d been in line, but my phone plan had expired because I had to call in sick for a few weeks at work just to keep my place in line. When the checks stopped coming, the bill never got paid. I miss my family. It was a joy watching all the wonderful kids grow up to become young adults in that line. The last time I looked at little Joey, he was in the middle grades, now he was growing his first moustache. Thank god the rest of Australia is all about helping each other, so the relief effort rations poured in over the years. Thankfully, the Australian government redirected some of the “Indonesia needs more planes and bombs” Tax fund towards the Sydney Tower relief effort. Luckily, I had used amazon prime to order furniture before the newest iPhone came out (twice). And that is how I came to live in Sydney tower. Sincerely, Still waiting to get to the top.
  • Given the price, this tower is not a necessary attraction to visit in Sydney. The Opera House is barely visible from the top. There are better places to admire the panorama of Sydney. I would recommend Harbour Bridge Walk (the pedestrian walkway is open and free of charge) and you can climb the Pylon Lookout for a fraction of the price of the Tower Eye.
