The Great Ocean Road, Torquay

4.8
Experience one of the world's most scenic coastal drives, along the south-west coast of Victoria. Take a drive on the spectacular Great Ocean Road, which winds alongside the wild and windswept Southern Ocean. Home to the world-class surf at Bells Beach and the craggy limestone spires of the 12 Apostles, this diverse and dramatic region is best explored over the course of a few days. The Great Ocean Road begins a 90 minute drive from Melbourne's city centre. It spans 400 kilometres (249 miles) from the town of Torquay to Nelson on the South Australian border.

  • Nature's view, very shocking, a lifetime must make a visit to the scene. The temperature of the October is very suitable for Ocean Road. Self-pilot travelers can think about staying in a small town on Ocean Road for a night and enjoy the beautiful scenery more leisurely.

  • From Melbourne the GOR. A fair distance and it takes more than an hour before you are at the beginning at all. It is a scenic route along the ocean but on a huge winding road. When you are sensitive to motion sickness, it is advisable to take a pill. En route you'll pass enough villages to keep a break and a cup of coffee to drink. Would you like for sunset at the twelve apostles would have to leave on time. We were really just around sunset. Because the road is so twisty you may not drive very fast, or it must be that you are a local and are used to this kind of roads. When you have less time, you can also choose to take a shortcut to drive down the highway and just before the sights to arrive at the GOR. This saves you three hours drive away. We have approximately at the end of the famous landmarks (in Petersborough) spend the night then in the morning to the sights to go before there are large tour buses full of other tourists stop. I think it is a must see when you are in the South-East of Australia.

  • Large scale compared with the tourist destinations of similar coastline located in Japan, there! Was cloudy and raining in the morning is good from the fine was halved, but it was very beautiful! Unlike the bus tour is performed with the car rental is recommended around wherever they want and spending time. Fashionable cafes and restaurants here and there is a small town, stop by there might be nice.
