  • We have visited MES with 4WD and camp followers. It's all relatively simple, but clean. The campground is located between trees or in an open area. Very nice people, which it quickly comes into contact. Also can be seen in the square of hand, peacocks, chickens and many birds. Unfortunately, you can get no meat locally, although it is an active cattle ranch. Exploring the Gorges are a real challenge for human and vehicle. One should ask the but, it's worth. Take bathing suit and plenty of water. Have we leave the car halfway to the Wunumura Gorge, because we were faster on foot and not wanted to risk the vehicle.

  • After a long day on the Gibb River Road we were welcomed at Elizabeth station with a lovely meal and clean comfortable beds. One night was plenty for us to recharge and continue to explore the area. T...  more »

  • Definitely one of the best places I stayed in the Kimberley, from the amazing gorges with aboriginal rock art to the campgrounds and friendly new managers I loved this place!
  • Gibb River Road is a great experience, but not every stop is great. If you're not a keen 4WD'r, there is only one thing to see here. This gorge below which is great, dont get me wrong. But be warned, there are fresh water croc's in the water which makes the whole place pretty boring. The Homestead is boring, the camping facilities are the worst on the trek. There is a very small hot water system that attempts to service about 10 showers. The power is constantly tripping. If you want to eat at the Homestead, you have to book weeks in advance. Again, unless you are a keen 4WD'r, skip this one.
