Start off your visit on the 29th (Wed): make a trip to Boggo Road Gaol, then soothe aching muscles at some of the top local wellness centers, then take in the spiritual surroundings of St. John's Anglican Cathedral, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Catholic Old St. Stephen's Church (chapel). Keep things going the next day: examine the collection at Queensland Maritime Museum, wander the streets of West End, get lost in a book at State Library Of Queensland, admire the masterpieces at Queensland Art Gallery, then sample the tasty concoctions at XXXX Brewery Tour, and finally get a taste of the local shopping with Queen Street Mall.

Getting from Gold Coast to Brisbane by car takes about an hour. Other options: take a bus; or take a train. In August in Brisbane, expect temperatures between 25°C during the day and 11°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 31st (Fri) so you can travel to Melbourne.
