Adelaide to Hobart is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of train, ferry, and bus. Traveling from Adelaide in September, things will get a bit cooler in Hobart: highs are around 18°C and lows about 7°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Thu) early enough to drive to Port Arthur.

Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Wineglass Bay Lookout and Wineglass Bay. Escape the urban bustle at Freycinet National Park and Dolphin & Whale Watching. When in Coles Bay, make a side trip to see Melshell Oysters in Swansea, approximately 46 minutes away. There's still lots to do: identify plant and animal life at Friendly Beaches, take in the waterfront at Coles Bay Jetty, and learn about winemaking at Craigie Knowe Vineyard.
