Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
You'll get in some beach time at Long Beach and Bellerive Beach. Family-friendly places like Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary and Opossum Bay Beach will thrill your kids. When in Hobart, make a side trip to see Port Arthur Historic Site in Port Arthur, approximately 1h 10 min away. And it doesn't end there: shop like a local with Salamanca Market, stop by Hammer and Hand Metal Gallery, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Wellington, and ponder the world of politics at Parliament House.

On the 6th (Wed), let little ones run wild at Melshell Oysters, take a leisurely stroll along Coles Bay Jetty, then enjoy the sand and surf at Honeymoon Bay, and finally trek along Wineglass Bay Lookout.
