Low Head is a suburb of George Town, Tasmania, on a peninsula at the mouth of the Tamar River, 5 kilometres north-west of the town centre.It is a popular snorkel and scuba diving area during much of the year, with extensive wide, unspoiled beaches.The area also has a lighthouse, beaches and a colony of little penguins (Eudyptula minor). Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Low Head Penguin Tours. Kick off your visit on the 19th (Wed): take some stellar pictures from Mt George Lookout, do a tasting at Holm Oak Vineyards, do a tasting at Bay of Fires Winery, then brush up on your military savvy at Low Head Pilot Station Maritime Museum, and finally surround yourself with nature on Low Head Penguin Tours.
